Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how EpDelegate (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use Bible Verse Widget: Daily (the “App”) on Android, including its home-screen widgets.
At a glance
- No account, no sign-in and no ads.
- Your favorites, reading streak and settings stay on your device.
- We use Google Firebase to understand how the App is used and to fix crashes. This data doesn’t include your name, email or contacts.
- We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.
- The App doesn’t ask for access to your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone.
Information we collect
1. Information that stays on your device
Your favorite verses, reading progress and streak, daily goal, chosen Bible translation and topics, theme, font and widget preferences are saved only in the App’s storage on your device. We don’t receive them. They are removed when you clear the App’s data or uninstall it.
2. Usage information
We use Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to learn which features are used, so we can improve the App. It collects:
- how you use the App, for example screens you open, verses you read, verses you save or share, topics you follow, settings you change, and whether you add, use or remove a home-screen widget;
- technical information such as app version, device model, Android version, language, and approximate region (country or city level, derived from your IP address);
- an app instance identifier created by Firebase, along with when the App was first opened and how long it was used.
We have turned off the collection of the Advertising ID, and the App doesn’t use advertising signals.
3. Crash reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to find and fix problems. If the App crashes or hits an error, it sends a report containing technical details such as the error and where it happened in the code, device model, Android version, app version, memory and storage state, the screens open just before the problem, the App’s settings (for example the chosen translation or theme), and a crash-reporting identifier.
4. App settings we download
When you open the App with an internet connection, it downloads a small set of settings from Firebase Cloud Firestore (a Google service), such as links to these pages and whether an update is required. Nothing about you is stored there. As with any internet connection, Google receives your IP address and basic device information to deliver this data.
What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location or payment information, and we have no user accounts.
How we use information
- to understand which features are useful and improve the App;
- to find, diagnose and fix crashes and bugs;
- to keep the App working, for example by asking you to update a version that no longer works properly.
Where data protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the App stable and improving it.
Sharing
We don’t sell, rent or trade your information, and we don’t share it for advertising. The information described above is processed for us by Google as our service provider under its own terms:
| Service | Purpose | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics | Usage statistics | Firebase privacy Google Privacy Policy |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports | |
| Firebase Cloud Firestore | App settings |
When you share a verse, the image or text goes to the app you pick in Android’s share menu (for example a messaging app). That sharing is under your control and is handled by that app; we don’t receive it.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the App.
Where information is processed
Google may process the information described above on servers in countries other than yours. Google applies safeguards for these transfers as described in its policies.
How long we keep it
Firebase keeps usage data for a limited time (at most 14 months) and crash reports for about 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically. Information on your device stays until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it.
Your choices and rights
- You can stop all collection at any time by uninstalling the App.
- You can delete the information stored on your device by clearing the App’s data in Android settings or by uninstalling the App.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information. Because we don’t collect names or accounts, we usually can’t link usage data to you, but we’ll help where we can. Contact us at the address below.
Children
The App is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Security
Information sent from the App to Firebase is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page or in the App.
